The objective of the Hong Kong Air Law Examination (Paragliding) is to assess the understanding of paraglider pilots on aviation regulations, flight rules and local operating environment in Hong Kong, and the examination result is valid for 5 years. The syllabus is available here

Paraglider pilots/ paragliding instructors, who wish to apply for the permit for hire or reward, have to attain a pass in the Hong Kong Air Law Examination (Paragliding) in support of the application. Subject to the submission of the application form and required supporting documents, separate arrangement will be made for the applicant to attend the examination. In addition, members of the public who have interest on operating paragliders in Hong Kong are also welcome to attend the examination to strengthen their understanding on aviation regulations, flight rules and local operating environment.
Hong Kong Air Law Examination (Paragliding) is held quarterly. To apply for the examination, applicants should send their names (same with Hong Kong Identity Card or other valid identification document), contact numbers and email addresses to paragliding@cad.gov.hk at least 2 weeks before the arranged examination. Examination details will be sent to applicants 2 weeks before the arranged examination. Please note that the published examination dates may be subject to alternation or cancellation. Registered applicants would be notified through emails.
