*Post-Secondary Student Summer Internship Programme 2016

General Requirements :

Applicants must –
(a) be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
(b) be enrolled in full time courses of locally or overseas (Hong Kong students) accredited post-secondary institutions; and
(c) not be final-year students who will complete their programme in the summer of 2016.

Job Title

Summer Intern (Administration)

Entry Requirements:

(a) Any major subject;
(b) Good command in written and spoken English and Chinese;
(c) Good knowledge of computer skills and in Microsoft Office applications; and
(d) Interest in aviation.


Duties :

Depending on the Department's operational need, intern may be required to:
(a) Provide administrative support in monitoring the compliance of Regulated Agent against CAD’s cargo security requirements;
(b) Assist in the administration of the IT project in enhancing Regulated Agent Database;
(c) Assist in enhancing the procedures related to flight crew licensing applications; and
(d) Assist in deriving a programme to promote awareness in shipping of lithium batteries by consignors and its implementation.


Job Title

Summer Intern (Technical Support)

Entry Requirements:

(a) Major in Information Technology/Information Engineering/Information System/Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Computer Programming/Electronics Engineering/Aviation Management/Aeronautical Engineering/Aviation related subject;
(b) Good command in written and spoken English and Chinese;
(c) Good knowledge of computer skills, programming and database management; and
(d) Interest in aviation.


Duties :

Depending on the Department's operational need, intern may be required to:
(a) Assist in optimizing aircraft accident investigation procedures and research in aircraft accident investigation;
(b) Assist in research and setting up the aircraft accident investigation database and library;
(c) Assist in organising accident investigation equipment;
(d) Assist in organising HK Airworthiness and Operations Requirements related to aviation safety; and
(e) Assist in enhancing the IT systems related to the oversight of aviation safety.

Allowance :

$9,600 per month

Terms of Appointment :

Summer interns are engaged under non-civil service appointment. They are normally required to work 44 hours per week, inclusive of meal breaks.

Fringe Benefits :

Rest day, statutory holidays, general holidays, sickness days, where appropriate, will be granted to successful candidates in line with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance (Cap. 57). They are subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme Ordinance (Cap. 485).

General Notes :

(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend recruitment examination and/or interview.

(a) Hong Kong students studying in local post-secondary institutions must apply through the Student Affairs Offices/Career Centres of their respective institutions. They are advised to note the deadlines set by the respective institutions. Direct applications from local students will not be considered.
(b) Students studying in non-local post-secondary institutions should download and complete the following documents -
(i) The application form; and
(ii) The questionnaire on Academic Qualification;
and send them with a copy of the certificates and official transcripts to the enquiry address listed above or email to recruitment@cad.gov.hk on or before the application deadline.
(c) Applications that are incomplete or without the above required supporting documents will not be further processed.
(d) The Job title must be clearly marked on the application form. Each applicant can apply for one post only.  If an applicant applies for more than one post, all his/her applications will not be considered.
(e) Students may need to attend a selection interview before mid-June 2016 in Hong Kong.
(f) Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
