Part-time Air Traffic Control Simulator Operator

| Entry
requirements : |
Candidates should (a) (i) have a pass in two subjects at Advanced Level in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination and Grade C / Level 3 [Note] or above in three other subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) including English Language, or equivalent, plus at least one year of working experience in aviation field; OR (ii) have five passes in HKCEE including English Language at Level 3 or above, or equivalent, plus at least three years of working experience in aviation field; (b) be able to speak and write in English fluently; and (c) be familiarized with computer operations.
Note :
For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.

| Duties
: |
A Part-time Air Traffic Control Simulator Operator is mainly deployed (a) to operate the pseudo-pilot workstations of the Radar Simulator and Control Tower Simulator; (b) to update the database of the simulators and to assist in the preparation of simulator exercises; (c) to update teaching material and to assist in the training of pseudo-pilots attending the pseudo-pilot training courses; (d) to supervise on-the-job training of pseudo-pilot trainees; and (e) to perform any other functions in support of the Training Unit. He/She is expected to work mostly in normal office hours but may be required to work in irregular hours between 0800 and 2400 on any day of the week. Working time per week will be less than 18 hours.
Note : Training on the use of aviation phraseology and operations of the air traffic control simulator workstations will be provided. |

Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2008)] are obtainable from any Public Enquiry Service Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's web site (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Candidates must state clearly results of all subjects obtained in the public examinations on the application forms or a separate sheet attached to their applications. Completed forms, together with copies of official transcripts and certificates (for holders of non-local academic qualifications), should reach the above enquiry address of the recruiting department on or before the closing date for application. On-line application can also be made through the Civil Service Bureau’s web site (http://www.csb.gov.hk).Candidates with non-local academic qualifications who apply online should submit their copies of official transcripts and certificates within one week after close of application period to the above enquiry address, and the online application number should be quoted on the envelope and the copies of supporting documents. If candidates fail to state clearly results of all subjects obtained in the public examinations or fail to provide the supporting documents as requested, their applications will not be considered.
