The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), CAD and the Civil Aviation Authority of Macao (AACM) signed a Co-operative Arrangement on Operational Evaluation of C919 Aircraft and a Memorandum of Understanding on Closer Co-operation on Airworthiness Certification.; June

CAD representatives attended the 2018 International Aviation Safety Conference jointly organised by the Federal Aviation Administration and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).; July

CAD organised a Flight Operations/Safety Forum for Hong Kong air operators at CAD Headquarters to promote and enhance flight safety.; 31 July

CAD established the Hong Kong Air Transport Facilitation Committee for relevant government departments, agencies, and organisations responsible for international civil aviation to share and coordinate facilitation activities and arrangements at a strategic level to improve operational efficiency of the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).; September

The Director-General of the Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) of the CAAC, Mr Che Jinjun; the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Mr Simon Li; and the President of the AACM, Mr Chan Weng-hong, attended the Pearl River Delta (PRD) Region Air Traffic Management Planning and Implementation Tripartite Working Group (TWG) high-level meeting in Harbin. They were briefed on the work progress of the airspace management technical group and the air traffic flow management (ATFM) technical group under the TWG, and discussed measures to further optimise airspace management in the PRD region and enhance the efficiency of regional ATFM.; October

CAD launched the Regulated Air Cargo Screening Facility Regime for facilitating the establishment and operation of air cargo security screening facilities at off-airport locations to meet the ICAO new policy direction.; 30 - 31 October

The 5th Meeting of Common Aeronautical Virtual Private Network (CRV) Operations Group, co-organised by ICAO, CAD and the CRV service provider, was held at CAD Headquarters.; 30 - 31 January

CAD organised a Safety Management Workshop with the theme "Achieving Effective Safety Performance Management" at CAD Headquarters and invited an ICAO representative as the keynote speaker.; February

2 February

CAD handled 2 467 flights, setting a new single-day record.
